I popped in to Waterstones in Alton, Hampshire, today and found Liz Barron doing a book signing session for her range of children’s books, Salcombe Seaside Fairies.
The books are illustrated by Emma Giles, and are suitable to be read to children of all ages, and read by children from about 7 years. She has visited many schools in the west and read her stories to more than 600 pupils.
Liz told me that she got the idea for the series from her own childhood experiences and hopes to secure soon the services of an agent. Depending on what advice she gets the title may be shortened to Seaside Fairies for future issues.
It was good to see Liz and Emma putting in the effort to sell their books, sales were going better than planned. I wish them every success and will look out for more tales of seaside fairies.
(Of course they are available on Amazon!)
