While we were away in the caravan Julie and I went to a technique workshop for blending with Distress Ink, a Ranger product from NJ, USA.
The techniques are designed for use with paper products used in altered art. This is where an ordinary, plan object is decorated by adding to it, maybe tags, paper flowers, labels, journalling.
We practised on brown paper tags, these are cheap and make a suitable vehicle for the product.The techniques included stamping with acrylic paint, masking, stamping, spritzing and re-inker ink. What started out to be 17 ended, with a little experimentation, as 21 tags.
The day was led by Anneliese Bates, who found out on the day after the course that she had been accepted to attend the Ranger U (Ranger university) where she will become (hopefully) a Ranger Educator for the full product range.
The products have been famously demonstrated in the US (and across the world) by Tim Holtz.
We are hoping to get back to Derbyshire for another day with Anneliese later in the year.
